design & digital media
and Sound design
industry day

This University of Edinburgh Industry Day aims to encourage and strengthen the relationship between businesses and organisations in the creative industries, and the University's Design & Digital Media and Sound Design staff, researchers and students.

Sound Design is situated at the centre of the multimedia experience. At the University of Edinburgh , staff expertise ranges from musical acoustics to real-time performance with digital sound, from algorithmic composition to sound with interactive visuals.

Our MScs in Design & Digital Media and Sound Design teach a multidisciplinary approach to working with image and sound. We offer students the opportunity to design and develop sound for a range of multimedia environments based on the internet, CD/DVD, customised software design and design beyond the desktop in the form of interactive installation, animation, computer games and film animation and sound.

On August the 1st, we open our doors to those working in the field of digital design and sound. Students will present themselves and their work and we offer key industry speakers in the form of Norman Harris (SFX Technologies Ltd), Matthew Aylett (Cereproc Ltd), Ailsa Bates (Outerlight Ltd), and Chris Rourke (User Vision Ltd), in addition to University of Edinburgh Speakers Dr Martin Parker and Mike Clouser.

Please register your interest or request more information here.
